Oticon Hearing Aids

Oticon’s first hearing instruments in 1904 were known as electric Acousticon devices.

A partnership with Charles Lehman created the American-Danish Oticon Corporation, which became the leading provider of hearing aids after World War II and a globally recognized company by 1965.

Their first ultra-discreet in-the-ear (ITE) hearing device went on sale in 1977 while their first digital device was produced in 1996.

The first devices with improved sound sensitivity as well as streaming and connectivity features were released in 2007.

Hearing Technology Solutions from Oticon

Oticon’s innovative focus is on Brain Hearing, which involves supporting how the brain processes sound by providing it with the elements needed to create meaning from sound instead of just amplifying sound.

In 2020, Oticon introduced the world’s first hearing aid with an onboard deep neural network (DNN).

With twenty-five years of digital technology as a foundation and investment into micro-digital technology, Oticon has the capacity to continue to manufacture smaller devices with higher performance capacity.

Oticon also created integrated Tinnitus SoundSupport in their hearing device which is capable of transmitting white noise and other tinnitus masking sounds using the streaming capabilities of their devices to create auditory relief from tinnitus.
