Sivantos Hearing Aids
Werner von Siemens, a manufacturer of telegraph systems, made a pivotal discovery in 1878 when he built a telephone with a horseshoe magnet capable of amplifying voice signals to improve the device’s voice quality.
Acquired by Sivantos, the Phonophor was the first hearing device produced before World War II. The Auriculette hearing aid (1959) was a behind-the-ear (BTE) device with small lightweight components that fit together in a single unit, which was followed by the Siretta 339, the first device worn entirely in-the-ear (ITE) in 1966.
As a part of Sivantos since 2015, Signia hearing aids, using Siemens’ technology such as Binax, accelerated the development of smart products and applications with practical benefits for people with hearing loss.
Now a part of WS Audiology through the Sivantos’ merger with Widex in 2019, Sivantos shares in the success of the large-scale manufacture of a variety of hearing instruments under various brand names.

Advanced Hearing Solutions from Sivantos
The e2e wireless technology of Binax technology simulates binaural hearing using an eight microphone network (four per hearing aid) that shares and balances audio data. Narrow Directionality, Spatial Speech Focus, eWindScreen binaural, and High Definition Sound Resolution enhance the clarity of your sound experience and are additional features included with Binex devices.
A broad line of RIC, CIC, BTE, ITE, and IIC instant-fit and custom fit devices that operate on the company’s OVP platform are available from Sivantos to meet the specific needs of their hearing aid wearers, including specialized instruments for individuals with one-sided hearing loss.
Sivantos’ TeleCare Remote Support
TeleCare, accessed using this Signia app on your Smartphone, makes it possible for you to stay up-to-date with your hearing care provider with ongoing counseling and support without the necessity of an office visit.
