Recently, we were fortunate enough to be featured in The Mercury News!

We are always looking for ways to bring more attention to the prevalence of hearing loss by raising awareness in our community about who we are and what we do.

This feature was special because it highlighted one of our valued patients, Mr. Giordano. His story is truly inspiring and not uncommon.

Like many, Mr. Giordano’s personal and professional life was affected by his hearing loss. Also, like many, he was not eligible for affordable insurance or government programs.

That’s where our non-profit organization, Pacific Hearing Connection, steps in.

Making Better Hearing More Accessible

Mr. Giordano’s story can be read in The Mercury News article, and we’re sure it’ll resonate with others.

Many people are unaware of the adverse effects of neglected hearing loss. Mr. Giordano’s story is a testament to this as he shares the impact hearing loss has had on his life.

We are well known for providing top-quality hearing care and have received high praises for our loud voice regarding hearing loss prevention techniques.

Keeping the lines of communication open is paramount. As you’ll see in the article, Mr. Giordano’s spouse did her best to achieve this, but prolonged hearing loss will test anyone’s will, no matter how strong they are.

We are strong proponents of personal care, and so getting Mr. Giordano paired with the best audiologist was crucial. Thankfully, Dr. Becky Dolan was available and was the perfect match.

She herself suffers from a hearing loss and was able to relate to Mr. Giordano right away. This is all part of providing top-tier healthcare, and it’s this attention to detail that separates us from other hearing healthcare providers.

Why We Are So Dedicated

We’ve seen many patients just like Mr. Giordano and want everyone to know that we are here to help. Our mission is to bring the best opportunities for hearing healthcare to everyone, regardless of their financial situation.

We do this by putting the patient first and ensuring their lifestyle needs are met. This profession is more than just helping people achieve their goals of improved hearing. It’s about restoring their confidence and getting them back to the life they enjoy.

Our mission started many years ago when we traveled to less fortunate countries to help children with a hearing loss. After seeing firsthand the struggles that many face, we knew we had to work harder in our own community to achieve success.

Now, with the introduction of over-the-counter hearing aids, our job suddenly took on a new direction. Despite the hype in the press and the intent on increased accessibility and cost savings, over-the-counter hearing aids are not always the best solution for every patient. Mr. Giordano was one of the people who needed more assistance and better options. We were excited to help him navigate through the process of getting him to hear better in all types of circumstances.

What Our Next Steps Are

One of our biggest hurdles remains awareness and education. There are many misconceptions about what audiologists do and what we offer. We are focused on hearing healthcare, not just sales and service of hearing aids. Our expertise and training ensure all of our patients and families that our hearing and balance evaluations take many factors into account, including your overall health and well-being.

To improve upon our ability to serve our patients, we are working toward getting a van. Our goal is to be able to make our equipment and staff mobile. We understand that traveling may be difficult for many of you. We want to take travel out of the equation to bring you the best available hearing healthcare to your home, work, or wherever is most convenient.

We are a donation-based organization, so as soon as we raise the funds to implement this plan, you may see us motoring around town, headed to whoever needs us most.

If you think you may be able to help, then contact us immediately. We are always open to accepting help in any form, whether it be volunteer work or your generous donations.

If you or a loved one suffers from a hearing loss, let this be your opportunity to help others who may be in need like Mr. Giordano. Mr. Giordano’s success in hearing better can be everyone’s success.

Do you know somebody that needs to see this? Why not share it?
