PACIFIC HEARING SERVICE
Video calls and video conferencing have become an essential part of keeping in touch with family, friends, and even colleagues. The capacity to come together while being in separate locations anywhere in the world has had a critical impact on daily living during COVID-19 lockdowns.
Providing adequate care to audiology patients has also been a challenge for hearing care professionals. But now, Pacific Hearing Service is using innovative teleconferencing technology to provide hearing care via our new Tele-Audiology service.
What is Tele-Audiology?
Tele-Audiology is a new way for patients and audiologists to connect. Using the video camera on your smartphone, computer, or tablet, you can communicate directly with your audiologist without having to visit the office.
While helping with social distancing restrictions of the COVID-19 era, this service also allows you to meet with your audiologist without having to arrange childcare, take time off from work or travel to the clinic. This can even mean that you can get personal care, remote programming, or troubleshooting assistance from your own audiologist while you’re out of town on business, visiting family or enjoying some well-deserved vacation time.
In addition, tele-audiology allows anyone who has concerns about their hearing to receive no-obligation advice from an audiologist through a 15-minute initial consultation. Tele-audiology also makes it easier for family and friends to encourage their loved one to get help for an untreated hearing loss.
For appointments that still do require coming to the office, please note that we have implemented full safety precautions in our offices, including masks, face shields, plexiglass sneeze guards, regular surface cleaning and curbside service.

Proud To Care for Some of the Most Influential People in Silicon Valley
// MY STORY
We’re proud to call Ann Hardy a patient: she’s a true Silicon Valley pioneer and a friend.
As a pioneer in computer programming, Ann joined IBM in New York in 1956. Among other projects, Ann worked on one of the first Fortran compilers, which was for STRETCH, IBM’s supercomputer of the day. STRETCH can now be seen in the Computer History Museum.
Ann’s hearing loss journey started when she visited her doctor to complain that she couldn’t hear very well. He referred her to Dr. Deborah Clark at Pacific Hearing Service.

I immediately had confidence that this was the place for me.
I first acted on my hearing loss about 30 years ago when I was in my mid 30’s. Being aware that I was missing parts of conversations was the impetus for taking action. But I first visited Pacific Hearing 7 years ago and by that time, I had lots of experience with audiologists and hearing aids. I was looking for an audiologist who was knowledgeable of options, would listen to my needs, and be willing to stick with me to find a solution.
I had been referred by a friend I trusted and I immediately had confidence that this was the place for me.

They are committed to getting the best results for each patient.
My first experience of a hearing challenge was when I had a sudden and profound hearing loss in my left ear. Prior to visiting Pacific Hearing Service, I didn’t have any concerns, but I was anxious to see what Dr. Baxter and her team could do for me.
My first impression was that Dr. Baxter and her team were extremely passionate about helping those who have lost their hearing and committed to getting the best results for each patient. They are also very thorough and knowledgeable.
They have improved my hearing so that I am not constantly having to say, “What did you say?” or, “Sorry, but I can’t hear you.”My overall verdict of Pacific Hearing Service is that they are excellent.

They did an outstanding job for my father
I first realized that I may have a hearing challenge when I wasn’t able to hear people with soft voices and when I needed the television to be loud. I knew about Pacific Hearing Service, as they did an outstanding job with my father, and I found them to be professional, capable, compassionate, kind, and sincere. By working with them, it has improved the quality of my life. I have no need to ask others to repeat things or tolerate the television being too loud. They are the best service provider of ANY that I have now or had in the past.
Top notch people, products, and processes.
