Akaash Nayak
Patient Care Coordinator
Akaash grew up in Fremont, CA, and attended Mission San Jose High School. After graduating, he moved to India for medical school at Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore. He finished university, received his degree and an Indian medical license, and has since relocated to Fremont.
Akaash aspires to eventually practice medicine in the Bay Area, so in the meantime, he is striving to develop good communication skills with patients and get an understanding of what this region's medical needs may be. He is beginning to understand the importance of good-quality hearing, especially as people get older, and wants to contribute to high-quality patient care in the area where he grew up.
As a patient care coordinator, Akaash is responsible for answering phones, scheduling patients for new/follow-up appointments, cleaning hearing aids and instructing patients on how to use them, and communicating with hearing aid manufacturers regarding supplying, returning, and repairing hearing aids.
He looks forward to communicating and connecting with patients and contributing to patient care in a way he’s never done before. Akaash worked in different departments as a medical student and as a graduate, but this is his first time working with audiologists and in a hearing clinic.
Akaash shares that he likes working in a busy environment, so observing how fast-paced the workflow can be is very exciting (albeit slightly intimidating, but that's something that'll wane with time).
Outside of work, Akaash likes to sing, cook, listen to/make hip hop music, watch NFL football (or anime or TV in general), and play video games.
