2027–2028 Audiology Extern Position
The Opportunity
Do you have a desire to work for an inspired private audiology practice working to make a difference in the world? Are you excited about working in an environment that prioritizes best practices and giving back to the community? We are seeking an audiology student extern who is interested in a wide variety of areas for a mostly adult population, including comprehensive audiological evaluations, hearing aid consultations and fittings, cochlear implants, tinnitus management, auditory processing evaluations, hearing conservation, and aural rehabilitation.
You will also assist with our nonprofit work locally and have the opportunity to travel to Guatemala on a paid humanitarian service trip as part of your externship year. Being in the heart of Silicon Valley, we strive to implement the latest research and hearing technologies into our practice and collaborate with local tech companies when the opportunities arise.

What You’ll Be Doing
Comprehensive audiological evaluations including QuickSIN, tympanometry, acoustic reflexes, otoacoustic emissions and, at times, adult APD and Cognivue screening
Hearing aid consultations and fittings. We work with six major hearing aid manufacturers and will train you to treat patients with the technology you deem most appropriate.
Specialty areas: tinnitus management, auditory processing, occasional pediatric diagnostic testing, cochlear implants, and hearing conservation.
Ongoing side projects such as presentations and webinars to local HLAA chapters and retirement communities and writing articles for our newsletter.
Providing care in retirement communities as part of our residential services program.
Assisting with our local non-profit, Pacific Hearing Connection.
Your Qualifications
Final year in an Au.D. program
Willingness to embrace our culture and core values

Compensation & Benefits
Extern Compensation
$20/hour paid bi-weekly. Minimum guaranteed compensation of $50,000, assuming full time work for the full extern year.
